The Bali Kecak Dance

Kecak (pronunciation: / 'ke.tʃak /, roughly "KEH-chahk," an alternative spelling: Ketjak, Ketjack, and Ketiak (means axilla), is the Balinese performing arts that was created in 1930-an and played mainly by men. This be dance by many (tens or more) male dancers who form a circle and sit down with a shouting rhythm "cak" and lift both of their arm up, describes the story of Ramayana when the monkey troop (lead by Hanuman) against Rahwana. However, Kecak derived from sanghyang rituals, the tradition of dance that the dancers will not aware of the condition, making a communication with God or the spirit of the ancestors and then convey the hope and expectation to the community.

The dancers sit around the cloth is put on the boxes such as the chess board around their waist. Besides the dancers, the dancers have also the other portrayal of figures such as the Ramayana, Rama, Shinta, Rahwana, Hanoman and Sugriwa.
